Humanize AI humanizer

Claude wrote it. Make it read like you.

Give it any AI draft and it rewrites the lines that read like a model. Your meaning, figures and names stay put. If nothing comes back better than what you started with, you keep your original. Try it free on a paragraph. Sign up for 1,000 words, no card.

How it works

What actually happens to your draft

Give it a draft that reads like a model and you get one back that doesn't. Your meaning, figures and names stay where they are. A paragraph free in the demo, 1,000 words free with an account, then credits.

01

Paste or upload the draft

A Claude reply, a GPT essay, a Gemini page, a PDF or a DOCX. The free demo takes a paragraph; full documents once you have an account.

02

It rewrites what gives the model away

Sentence rhythm, hedging, and the phrasing a reader recognises as AI. What you actually said is left alone. The claims, the figures and the names come back intact.

03

Check it before you send it

The rewrite comes back scored paragraph by paragraph, so you can see which parts still read like a model and which are clear. Below 35% reads as human-written.

What stays

Your meaning and your numbers

Your claims, your numbers, your proper names, and the shape of the argument. Names and figures are swapped for placeholders before the rewrite and restored after it, so the real ones are never part of what gets rewritten. If a figure comes back altered we catch it and hand you the original paragraph instead.

What changes

Voice, rhythm, model tells

Even sentence lengths, the “it’s not just X, it’s Y” move, the hedge-and-pivot cadence, and the em-dashes AI writing is full of and most human writing isn’t. Tone is the hard part: an academic paragraph should not come back sounding like a TED talk, so the rewrite is held to the formality of whatever you gave it.

Watermarks, honestly

“AI watermark” means three different things

We can make a strong claim about one, a fair claim about another, and should not make a claim at all about the third. Most pages selling a watermark remover blur them together.

Fully handled

Invisible tracking characters

Zero-width spaces, soft hyphens and byte-order marks: invisible on screen, and they travel with the text through copy and paste. We remove every character in the Unicode categories they live in, and tell you exactly what came out. Claude adds none of these. Plenty of other tools do.

Handled

Style fingerprints

Not watermarks technically, but they give machine writing away just as reliably. The em dash is the clearest case. These are banned in the instructions to the rewriter and stripped from the output regardless, because an instruction is a request and a check is a guarantee.

Nobody can remove this

Anthropic’s statistical watermark

It is not in the characters at all. It is hidden in which words the model chose, so there is nothing to delete and no tool, ours included, can strip it out. Rewriting should defeat it, but we have not measured that and we do not sell it as watermark removal.

Side by side

What you get, against what a free detector gives you

Free tools tell you there is a problem. This one tells you which sentences are the problem, and then fixes them.

What gives a draft away

Three habits a reader notices before they can name them

Our detector is a model trained on human and AI writing, and what it learned to spot is not vocabulary but construction. These are the habits it weighs most heavily, and the first things the rewrite goes after.

01

Every sentence is the same length

People write a four-word sentence and then a thirty-eight-word one. A model clusters tightly around its average, and that flatness is the strongest single tell there is.

02

Nothing surprising ever comes next

Human writing takes odd turns. A model picks the safe, high-probability word almost every time, and a page of safe choices reads as flat long before a reader works out why.

03

The same rhetorical move, on a schedule

"It's not just X, it's Y." "That said." "It's worth noting." Any one of them is fine. A model reaches for them at predictable intervals, and the spacing is as recognisable as the words.

Who uses Humanize

Finish the draft. Then get on with your life.

The point isn’t hiding a model. It’s finishing writing you are entitled to send so it actually sounds like you today, and when the next model ships.

The email you haven’t sent

The draft is sitting in Claude. You know it still sounds like Claude. Rewrite the voice, hit send, sleep.

Writing in a second language

You know what you mean. The model gave you fluent English that does not sound like you, and everyone can hear it. This puts your register back without touching your argument.

Writers and editors

Take a Claude or GPT outline and adapt the voice before a client sees the model cadence. Screen freelance copy the same way.

Anyone pasting AI

Replies, briefs, PDFs, full pages. Score which parts still sound like a model, rewrite those parts, keep the rest. Next model, same job.

FAQ

The questions worth answering

Why not just ask ChatGPT to rewrite it myself?

You can, and for one paragraph you probably should. The difference is that a chatbot rewrites once and hands you the result with no idea whether it worked. It cannot mark its own homework.

This runs the rewrite against a detector on every attempt. For each paragraph it produces several different versions, scores all of them, and keeps one only if it genuinely reads less machine-like than what you started with and passes about a dozen quality checks: not cut off mid-sentence, no leaked model chatter, not turned into a bulleted list, none of the roughly fifty banned AI clichés. If nothing beats your original, you get your original back rather than a confident-sounding substitute.

The other practical difference: asking a model to improve your text is how you get marked text in the first place. Anthropic is explicit that using Claude to proofread your own writing produces watermarked output.

What does it keep, and what does it change?

It keeps your claims, your figures, your names and the structure of the argument. It changes sentence rhythm, hedging, and the phrasing a reader recognises as AI.

Names and figures are swapped for placeholders before the rewrite and restored afterwards, so the real ones are never part of what gets rewritten. If a figure comes back altered, that paragraph is discarded and your original kept. There is also a final check for whether the rewrite drifted so far it lost the meaning; if it did and it did not score well either, it is reverted.

Read the result anyway. That is the one step no tool does for you.

What does the score mean, and how accurate is it?

It is the likelihood that writing reads as machine-made, from 0 to 100%. Lower is more human. Below 35% is clear, 35% to 70% is flagged, above 70% is strongly machine-like. You get a number for the document and one for each paragraph.

It is a probability, not a verdict. People who write in a regular, uniform style score higher than they deserve. Short paragraphs are the known weak spot: news-style and punchy marketing copy score far too high, and genuinely human-written news articles have scored around 99%. False positives are possible and we have seen them. The scores are also not calibrated, so 90% is a raw model output, not a claim that 90 of 100 such texts were machine-written. Never use this as sole evidence in a decision about a person.

If it clears your bar, will I pass Turnitin or GPTZero?

We don't know, and we won't claim otherwise. We grade against our own detector. Text that clears our 35% bar has not been shown to clear Turnitin, GPTZero, Originality.ai or any other commercial detector, and every mention of "clearing the bar" on this page means ours.

No rewriting service can promise you a third party's verdict. Anyone who does is guessing.

What about Claude's watermark, and hidden characters?

Three different things get called an AI watermark, and they deserve three different answers.

Invisible tracking characters (zero-width spaces, soft hyphens, byte-order marks) are removed completely, and you get an account of exactly what came out. Claude does not add these, but plenty of other tools do.

Style fingerprints such as the em dash are stripped as a matter of course.

Anthropic's statistical watermark is not in the characters at all, it is in which words the model chose. Nothing to delete, and no tool, ours included, can strip it out. Anthropic says a complete rewrite removes the signal and our output is generated fresh, so there is good reason to expect it works, but we have not measured it and we do not sell it as watermark removal. Anyone quoting you a removal percentage is inventing it, since no public reader for that mark exists.

What can it handle, and how long does it take?

Drafts from Claude, GPT-5, Gemini and 40+ other models, plus text written before any of this existed. Paste it, or upload PDF, DOCX or TXT once you have an account. The free demo takes 1,000 characters.

About 50 seconds for a typical five-paragraph document, two minutes at the outside. On our last measured run, ten documents all cleared the 35% bar, average score before 74% and after 20%, average 17 seconds. Ten documents is a small sample and we would rather say so than round it into a headline.

Formal and academic writing is the hard case: roughly three in ten formal documents run out of time without clearing the bar. Tone drift is the other known risk, which is why the formality of your source is identified first and the rewrite is held inside it.

What does it cost?

The demo is free and needs no account. After that it is $9.90 a month or $99 a year, which is the same plan billed differently: unlimited detections, 5,000 Humanizer words a month, uploads, priority support and exportable reports on both. If you use up the words, you can buy more without changing plan. Cancel whenever.

Is my text stored, and who are you?

Text is processed as it arrives and is not kept, is never used for training, and is never sold or shared. Detection runs inside our own service, so scored text does not go to an outside company at all. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

The service is operated by Girema Holdings Limited, a company registered in Limassol, Cyprus, so it sits under EU data protection law: you can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or its deletion at any time. Payments are handled by Stripe and card details never touch our servers. The full detail is in our privacy policy.
